Fernando Ureña Rib is the Founder and Director of Latin Art Museum, the most importat and complete website in the Art od the Dominican Republic.

Art is a human communication tool that allows artists to break barrier of language and cultural patters, in order to establish his/her own vision of the world . Fernando Ureña Rib.

Biography
Fernando Ureña Rib
Fernando Ureña Rib was born in La Romana, Dominican Republic in March 21, 1951. He began his studieses of painting in the School of Fine Arts in San Francisco de Macorís, Dominican Republic in 1963. Late, he obtaining a scholarship by the State of the Dominican Republic to continue study in the National School of Fine Arts in the capital city Santo Domingo in 1968, where concludes with oil painting and mural painting under the wings of the great Master of the Dominican painting, Jaime Colson.
He graduates High School in "Philosophy and Writing " in 1968, and in the University Autonomous of Santo Domingo, -UASD-, the career of "Foreign Languages", where he learns English, French, German and Italian.
During 1973 and 1974 he live in Spain and achieved out an extensive trips of studieses for Central Europe and the North of Africa. With the support of the famous Spanish writer, don Gregorio Marañón, he exhibits he works in the Institute of Hispanic Culture of Madrid, in the homologous institutes of Barcelona, Soria and in the Museum of Fine Arts of Málaga.
In Europe he studies the techniques of Flamenco and Venetian painting. From 1975 Fernando Ureña Rib exhibits his works in museums and galleries of Europe, standing out the exhibitions presented in the Deutsche Bank, of Bonn, Germany in 1982, and the show of October 12, 1988 in the Latin American Italo Institute of Rome, in which attended diplomatics and high dignitaries of the Church.
In 1977 he receives an invitation from the Department of State of The United States to visit the most important Museums and Institutes of Art from that country.

Nació en la Romana, República Dominicana el 21 de marzo de 1951. Inició sus estudios de pintura en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de San Francisco de Macorís en 1963 obteniendo una beca del Estado Dominicano para continuar sus estudios en la Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes de Santo Domingo en 1968, donde concluye con talleres de pintura al Óleo y pintura mural bajo la guía del maestro dominicano de la pintura, Jaime Colson.
Se gradúa como Bachiller en Filosofía y Letras en 1968 y realiza estudios de lenguas extranjeras en la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, donde aprende Inglés, Francés, Alemán e Italiano.
Durante 1973 y 1974 reside en España y realiza extensos viajes de estudio por Europa Central y el Norte de Africa. Con el aval del insigne escritor español, don Gregorio Marañón, exhibe en el Instituto de Cultura Hispánica de Madrid y en los homólogos institutos de Barcelona y Soria y en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Málaga.
En Europa estudia técnicas de pintura Flamenca y Veneciana. Desde 1975 Fernando Ureña Rib exhibe sus obras en museos y galerías de Europa, sobresaliendo las exposiciones presentadas en el Deutsche Bank, de Bonn, Alemania en 1982 y la muestra del 12 de Octubre de 1988 en el Instituto Italo Latinoamericano de Roma, a la que asiste en pleno el cuerpo diplomático y altos dignatarios de la Iglesia. En 1977 recibe una invitación del Departamento de Estado de los Estados Unidos para conocer los Museos e Institutos de Arte mas importantes de ese país.
