FELIX BERROA IN THE OUTDOOR SHOWS ---FELIX BERROA EN LAS EXHIBICIONES AL AIRE LIBRE

In the United States, for more than fifty years are a new modality of exhibiting the Fine Arts, and every year get strongest: the "outdoor art shows".

There are shows with not much reconocitions and there are famed and extremely demanding ones with a jury of acceptance. Among the three states (New York, New Jersey and Connecticut), the three shows most famed (exhibiting artists from all over the United States) are:

Friends of the North Castle Public Library, Armonk, New York; Fine Arts Shows in Bruce Museum, Greenwich, connecticut; and Merchants Association of Westport, Connecticut. One of the oldest outdoor shows in the New York State is the Washington Square Oudoor Exhibit, in the low Manhathan. Other with high recognition is the one celebrated in Central Park in New York City. In Long Island, others with less fame than those first three, but with at lot of merits are: Artists association of Montauk, Westhampton Beach Chamber of Commerce, Gallery North in Setauket, Art Council of Huntington, etc.

The characteristics of these exhibitions are that the artist can have a direct contact with the collectors and general public without any intermediary. The artist "learn" how to value and "negociate" his/her works without the need of a second person, breaking up with the myth that the artist "should not be involved" in the negotiation of his/her art.

Felix Berroa exhibit his works every year in around fithteen of the best of these shows since 1997 (those mentioned).

En los Estados Unidos, desde hace mas de cincuenta años hay una nueva modalidad de exhibir las Artes Plasticas, que cada vez toma mas fuerza. Los llamados "outdoor shows o festival" o "exhibiciones o festivales de arte al aire libre".

Los hay desde los no muy reconocidos, hasta los extremadamente famosos y exigentes con un jurado de aceptacion. Entre los tres estados (New York, New Jersey y Connecticut), los de mas renombres son el de Friends of the North Castle Public Library en Armonk, New York; el de Bruce Museum, en Greenwish, Connecticut; y el de la Asociacion de Comerciantes de Westport, en Connecticut. Un show que tienes mas de cuarenta años y en el que han pasado artistas de gran talla, es Washington Square Outdoor Exhibit, celebrado en el centro del bajo Manhathan. Tambien es muy meritorio el celebrado en Central Park en New York City.

En Long Island, otros de menos relieves que esos cuatros, pero con mucho meritos son el de la Asociacion de Artistas Plasticos de Montauk; el de Gallery North en Setauket, Westhampton Beach Chamber of Commerce en Westhampton Beach, el de Art Council de Huntington, etc.

Las caracteristicas de estas exhibiciones es que el artista tiene un contacto directo con los coleccionistas y publico en general sin intermediarios. El artista "aprende" a valorar y "negociar" sus trabajos sin la necesidad de una segunda persona, rompiendo con el mito de que el artista "no debe estar envuelto" en las negociaciones de sus trabajos. Felix Berroa exhibe sus trabajos cada ano en catorce de los mejores de estos shows (mencionados).
